At the Hawaiʻi Minting Authority local master minters and craftsmen create fine items of intrinsic value to treasure, each lasting as long as the rich history of these majestic islands. All kālā paʻa are conceptualized and produced without the use of high speed modern machinery. Precious metals are liquefied, cast, gauged, blanked, weighed, coined, and verified one at a time by hand. The obverse design features the Heraldic Shield adopted from The Great Seal of Hawaiʻi which depicts the stripes of Ka Hae Hawaiʻi and two puloʻuloʻu. Reverse designs honor Hawaiian people, culture, history, flora, and fauna. Durable hardwood display boxes are handcrafted from sustainably harvested and reclaimed native and endemic Hawaiian trees. Each item is exclusively produced in Hawaiʻi. The time honored processes utilized at the Hawaiʻi Minting Authority ensure each item is one of a kind, deserving inclusion in the most discriminating collections.
Mint production for the 2022 calendar year is limited to 720 coins total, 60 produced each month. Within those production limits, there will be no limit to amount of any particular design; collector demand will affect supply. New stock will be made available on the first day of each month.

Mission Statement and Vision
Hawaiʻi Minting Authority's mission is to utilize the timeless medium of handcrafted numismatic precious metal rounds to honor, educate, and perpetuate the culture in and of Hawaiʻi.

Precious Metals with Purpose:
In addition to Hawaiʻi Minting Authority's normal course of business operation providing purpose and a source of income for locals, our benefactors commit that a minimum of 51% of profits at Hawaiʻi Minting Authority will be used towards sustainable agriculture on the island of Hawaiʻi. These funds will be directly disbursed from Hawaiʻi Minting Authority to farmers on island to be used to further develop the promising ʻulu (breadfruit) industry thereby increasing food security on the islands where more than 80% of food is imported. This is to ensure future generations will thrive in Hawaiʻi.
A single ʻulu tree can produce more than 1000 lbs. of complex low glycemic carbohydrates annually. ʻUlu has the best protein profile of any starchy staple crop produced worldwide. Hawaiʻi Minting Authority’s benefactors are directly responsible for more than 730 trees being planted into productive agriculture systems on our island and helping to support farms until those trees become productive. Our vision is to double the number of trees in the coming decade.
Your purchases directly increase the food security for the future generations in Hawaiʻi.
